  PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
The horse's motion closely replicates the human walk for the individual sitting astride the horse's back. This improves flexibility, balance and muscle strength for those riders with physical disabilities. Additionally, the warmth of the horse's body can significantly reduce spasticity and enhance coordinated actions of many muscle groups. It is an exceptional therapy for sensory integration disorders.

EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL DISABILITIES
For individuals with mental or emotional disabilities, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience and self-esteem. Remember, much of the life experience of the disabled person consists of learning they cannot participate. Astride a horse, they CAN!
